Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the ongoing Test series against England after suffering an injury on the first day of the fourth Test. According to media reports, Pant has sustained a fracture in his leg and has been advised six weeks (42 days) of complete rest.

Scans have revealed a clear fracture in Pant’s leg. The medical team is exploring whether he could possibly return to bat after taking painkillers. However, reports suggest he is still relying on support to walk, and the chances of him returning to bat are very slim.

Pant Retired Hurt After Being Hit by a Yorker
Pant was injured in the 68th over on Day 1 of the Manchester Test. England’s Chris Woakes bowled a slow yorker that Pant attempted to reverse sweep. The ball first hit his bat, then struck his shoe. Although England appealed for LBW, the umpire declared him not out.Pant was visibly in pain and had to be attended to by the physio team. After removing his shoe, swelling was observed in his leg, confirming the severity of the injury. He was then taken off the field on a stretcher van, retiring hurt at 37 runs. Prior to the injury, Pant had contributed to a 72-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Sai Sudharsan.
