First Glimpse of Ayodhya Ram Mandir’s Sacred Flag Revealed
Ayodhya: The first images of the sacred religious flag, soon to be installed atop the Shikhar of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, have been released. The saffron-colored flag will be ceremoniously hoisted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The temple opened for public darshan last year, even before its Shikhar was completed. Now, with the entire structure ready, the flag will be raised on the temple’s pinnacle. Notably, both the flag and the flagpole have been manufactured in Ahmedabad.

Special Features of the ‘Dharma Dhwaja’
The ceremonial flag to adorn the temple’s Shikhar is officially named the ‘Dharma Dhwaja.’ Featuring a symbolic sun emblem, it is also being referred to as the ‘Surya Dhwaja.’
Designed to endure extreme weather, it can withstand intense heat, heavy rainfall, and winds up to 60 km per hour.

Flagpole Plated With 21 kg Gold
The 161-foot flagpole at the grand Ayodhya temple has now been fully gold-plated. Approximately 21 kilograms of gold were used, giving the Shikhar a striking and divine appearance. Expert artisans from Mumbai were specially commissioned to complete the intricate work.

Installation on Nagara-Style Temple Shikhar
The Dharma Dhwaja will be hoisted atop the Shikhar, built in traditional North Indian Nagara architectural style. The sacred saffron flag symbolizes dignity, cultural continuity, unity, and the ideals of Ram Rajya.

- 11:36 am – 11:47 am: Devotees enter sanctum, initiate worship
- 11:47 am – 11:58 am: Ashtottara Puja and flagpole stabilization
- 11:58 am – 12:07 pm: Preliminary rituals, Amlasaar & Yantra installation
- 12:08 pm – 12:16 pm: Dharma Dhwaja hoisting with Vedic chants
- 12:16 pm – 12:20 pm: Ceremonial unfurling of the flag
- 12:21 pm – 12:31 pm: Abhishek, Yagna, floral offerings & sandal rituals
- 12:32 pm – 1:00 pm: Maha Aarti, devotional announcements After the ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the gathering.

Complete Event Schedule
At 12 pm today, PM Modi will hoist the saffron Dharma Dhwaja at Shri Ram Mandir and perform special prayers. The event will begin at 10 am.
The Prime Minister will arrive at Ayodhya Airport and travel to Saket University by helicopter, followed by a roadshow leading to the temple.
Entry for general devotees will remain suspended today. Only invited guests will be allowed inside through QR code-based verification.
