Allu Arjun Sleeps on Jail Floor, Released After 18 Hours; Mother Performs Rituals & Says, ‘Always Respect the Law’
‘Pushpa-2’ actor Allu Arjun was released from Chanchalguda Central Jail on Saturday morning at around 6:30 AM. His father, Allu Arvind, and father-in-law, Kancharla Chandrashekhar Reddy, arrived at the jail to take him. Allu was in custody for nearly 18 hours. After his release, Allu went straight to Geeta Arts Production House.
Later, at around 9 AM, Allu arrived at his home in Hyderabad. Upon arrival, a ritual to ward off the evil eye was performed, and then he hugged his mother before entering the house to meet with family members. Afterward, he stepped out again to speak with the media.
Despite receiving interim bail from the Telangana High Court, Allu Arjun had to spend a night in jail due to delays in paperwork. According to sources from Chanchalguda Jail, the actor’s prisoner ID for the night was 7697. He spent the entire night hungry, sleeping on the ground. As an undertrial, the police had kept him in the Manjira Barrack’s Class-1 section. All of Allu Arjun’s details were recorded in the jail’s records.
Allu Arjun’s First Response After Release
“I thank all my fans for their love and support. There’s no reason to worry. I am fine! I am a law-abiding citizen. Once again, I express my condolences to the affected family. It was an unfortunate incident. We are deeply sorry for what happened.”
Allu Arjun’s Arrest and Release Details
Allu Arjun was arrested on the afternoon of December 13 at 12 PM. He was accused of arriving at a theater in Hyderabad for the premiere of Pushpa-2 on December 4 without prior notice, causing a crowd to gather, which led to chaos. The incident resulted in the death of one woman and several injuries.
After his arrest, Allu was presented in a local court at 4 PM, where he was sent to judicial custody for 14 days. He then appealed for interim bail in the Telangana High Court. By 5 PM, he was granted bail on a personal bond of ₹50,000. Meanwhile, he was taken to Chanchalguda Central Jail and placed in a Class-1 barrack.
It was expected that Allu would be released by Friday night, but this did not happen. The jail administration stated that they had not received a copy of the court order. Allu’s lawyer stated that Allu had now been released and that the jail authorities had received the court order, but he had not been freed earlier. The arrest was considered unlawful, and legal action would be taken. The jail administration would be held accountable.
Allu Arjun Expresses Discomfort Over His Arrest Process
On Friday, Allu Arjun raised objections about the manner of his arrest. The actor claimed that the police did not allow him to finish his breakfast and did not even let him change his clothes.
A video surfaced showing Allu in his home, walking down to the parking area where his servant runs to offer him tea. In the video, Allu is seen drinking tea while his wife, Sneha Reddy, is also present. Allu is seen explaining something to her before the police take him away.
Case Filed Against Allu Arjun Under BNS Sections 105, 118(1)
A case has been filed against Allu Arjun under BNS Sections 105 and 118(1), which are non-bailable sections. The police had earlier arrested the actor from his home, and his statement was recorded. Afterward, he was taken to Osmania Hospital for a medical check-up. Meanwhile, his father-in-law, Kancharla Chandrashekhar Reddy, arrived at the Chikkadpally Police Station in Hyderabad.
In addition to Allu Arjun, his personal bodyguard, Santosh, was also arrested by the police. Allu’s lawyer, Shoka Reddy, referenced a case involving Shah Rukh Khan during a promotion in Gujarat, where a crowd became chaotic after the actor threw a T-shirt. In that case, Shah Rukh Khan was initially accused of causing a fatal incident, but both the Gujarat High Court and the Supreme Court later provided relief to him.
Regarding Allu Arjun’s arrest, actor Varun Dhawan stated, “An actor can’t take everything upon themselves. We can explain to those around us. This accident is truly unfortunate. I offer my condolences. It’s tragic, but we can’t blame just one person.”
Husband of Deceased Revathi Claims Allu Arjun is Not Responsible for the Chaos
Bhasker, the husband of the deceased Revathi, stated that he had no information regarding Allu Arjun’s arrest. He expressed his desire to withdraw the case, emphasizing that Allu was not directly responsible for the chaos. Bhasker explained that Allu had taken his wife and children to the premiere show, and the crowd suddenly surged forward upon seeing the actor. He clarified that Allu had no involvement in the tragic incident.
Theater Management Claims They Informed Police About Allu’s Presence at the Premiere
The theater management asserted that they had informed the police two days before the premiere of Pushpa-2 about the event and had requested security arrangements. However, they claimed that the police had not provided adequate security. On the other hand, the police stated that they had not received any information from the theater management.
What Happened in the Entire Incident?
On December 4, Allu Arjun arrived at the Sandhya Theater for a film screening without prior notice. His sudden appearance caused a frenzy among his fans, who eagerly tried to meet him. As a result, a large crowd gathered, and many fans attempted to enter the theater with the actor, leading to heavy congestion. This caused difficulty in breathing for many people.
To control the crowd, the police resorted to a mild lathi charge. After the crowd was dispersed, several individuals who had fainted due to the commotion were admitted to the hospital. Unfortunately, during this time, a female patient was declared dead by the doctor.
