Bajaj Launches Most Affordable Chetak 35 Series Electric Scooter: Offers 151 km Range and Impressive Storage Capacity
Bajaj Auto, the renowned two-wheeler manufacturer, recently launched the most affordable variant of its famous electric scooter, the Chetak 35 Series, named the Chetak 3503, on April 28. Priced at ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom), this model is now available for purchase.
The next-generation Chetak 3503 was originally unveiled in December 2024, featuring cosmetic changes and mechanical upgrades. The price of this variant was kept under wraps until its official release. Other variants in the series include the Chetak 3501 and 3502.
The updated Bajaj Chetak now features a new chassis frame with the battery pack placed under the floorboard. Additionally, it offers 35 liters of storage space beneath the seat. The Chetak 3503 comes with a 3.5kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of up to 153 km on a full charge. However, it lacks some of the features found in the 3501 and 3502 variants.

Warranty and Pricing
The Chetak 35 Series is the top-of-the-line electric scooter in the company’s EV lineup. The Chetak 3501 is priced at ₹1,27,243 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), while the 3502 costs ₹1,19,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru).
Bajaj offers a 3-year/50,000 km warranty on the new model. The Chetak 35 Series will compete with other electric scooters such as the Vida V2, Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro, and TVS iQube. Bajaj has expanded its dealership network to 507 cities, and the scooter is also available for purchase on e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. Booking for the scooter is now open on the official website.
Performance: Top Speed of 73 km/h and a Range of 153 km
The Chetak 35 Series features an electric motor that powers the scooter. The Chetak 3501 and 3502 models can reach a top speed of 73 km/h, while the Chetak 3503’s top speed is slightly lower at 63 km/h.
Powering the scooter is a new 3.5kWh battery pack, the largest battery ever offered in the Chetak. Bajaj claims that with a full charge, the scooter will provide an IDC-certified range of 153 km and a real-world range of 120-125 km.
The Chetak 3501 comes with a 950W onboard charger, which can charge the battery pack from 0-80% in just 3 hours. Meanwhile, the Chetak 3502 features an offboard 950W charger, taking 3 hours and 25 minutes for the same charge.

Design: Enhanced Comfort and Storage
While the new Chetak 35 Series scooter maintains a similar look to its predecessors, it incorporates several technical changes. The platform has been updated, along with changes to the control system, motor panel, battery positioning, and overall structure, providing better range, storage space, and comfort.
The scooter features a retro-styled LED DRL in the shape of a horse’s hoof at the front, along with chrome elements. The seat is now 80mm longer for added comfort, and the floorboard has been expanded. The wheelbase has been increased by 25mm to 1,350mm, contributing to improved stability.

Features: Map Navigation and Auto Hill Hold
The Chetak 3501 variant comes equipped with a new TFT touch display that includes map navigation, smartphone connectivity, key fob (remote lock/unlock), and an eco riding mode. Both the Chetak 3501 and 3502 variants will feature advanced safety features like Auto Hill Hold.
For additional features, customers can purchase a tech pack that includes a sport riding mode and enhanced smartphone connectivity options such as geo-fencing, sequential blinkers, guide-me-home lights, towing alerts, trip and data analytics, and speed limit settings with over-speed alerts.
The Chetak 3502 variant comes with a non-touch TFT display and turn-by-turn navigation but lacks a key fob, offering a mechanical key instead. It also only has an eco riding mode and comes with a similar tech pack as the 3501 but without sequential indicators and onboard document storage.
