Kia Seltos Premium SUV Launched in India: First Car with Power-Adjustable Ventilated Seats, Level-2 ADAS, and 6 Airbags for Safety
A New Mid-Size SUV with Segment-First Features
On December 19, Kia Motors India unveiled its new mid-size SUV, the Kia Ciros, in the Indian market. This SUV boasts segment-first premium features, making it the first sub-4-meter car in India to offer fully ventilated and electrically adjustable seats for all passengers.
Innovative Design and Advanced Features
The Kia Ciros also introduces several other first-in-segment features, including 60:40 split reclining rear seats and a panoramic sunroof. For safety, the SUV is equipped with a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and six airbags, ensuring a secure driving experience.
Bookings Start January 3
The Ciros is Kia’s fifth SUV in India, positioned between the Seltos and Sonet. Designed with a focus on premium customers, the SUV is available in six variants: HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, and HTX+ (O). Kia is marketing the Ciros as a “mini Carnival.” Bookings will begin on January 3, with deliveries starting in February 2025. While pricing details are yet to be announced, the expected starting price is ₹9 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently, the Ciros faces no direct competition in the Indian market.
Performance: Two Engine Options
The Kia Ciros offers two engine options for performance enthusiasts:
- 1-Liter Turbo-Petrol Engine
- Generates 120hp power and 172Nm torque.
- Available with a 6-speed manual gearbox (MT) or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox (DCT).
- 1.5-Liter Diesel Engine
- Produces 116hp power and 250Nm torque.
- Available with a 6-speed manual gearbox (MT) or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox (AT).
Kia has yet to reveal the mileage figures for both engine options.
