Accused Arrested in Kosamba Suitcase Murder Case: Live-in Partner Ravi Sharma Confesses to Killing Woman and Dumping Body
The accused in the sensational Kosamba suitcase murder case has been arrested. Local Crime Branch (LCB) officials detained Ravi Sharma, a native of Bihar, from Firozabad near Delhi. The case came to light on Monday when a woman’s body was found stuffed inside a suitcase near Kosamba in Surat district.
Live-in Relationship Turns Deadly
According to police reports, Ravi Sharma and the deceased woman were in a live-in relationship. When the woman began pressuring Ravi to marry her, he allegedly strangled her to death. To cover up the crime, Ravi packed her body into a suitcase and dumped it near the roadside before fleeing the area. Initially, locals believed the man living with the woman was her husband, but investigations revealed he was her boyfriend.

Discovery of the Body
Pushpendra Singh Solanki, a local resident, first discovered the suspicious suitcase.
“While on my morning walk, my security guard mentioned that the bag looked suspicious. When I checked, it seemed like a body was inside. I immediately informed the police,” he told reporters.
Police Investigation and Findings
Surat District Police Chief Rajesh Gadhia personally inspected the crime scene due to the seriousness of the case.
“The woman’s body was found wrapped in a dupatta and stuffed inside a purple suitcase dumped in a roadside drain near the service road. There were visible blood marks on her face and nose,” said Gadhia.
Kosamba Police Inspector D.I. Khachhar added that the police received a message from locals about a suspicious bag near a Maruti showroom by the overbridge. Upon inspection, they found the body of an unidentified woman, estimated to be around 25 years old.
Possible Cause of Death
Initial observations suggest that the woman may have died due to suffocation, as the murderer allegedly pressed her mouth and nose. The exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report.

How the Body Was Disposed
Inspector Khachhar further explained that the woman’s body was folded and tied with clothes before being placed in a two-foot trolley suitcase.
“There were no cut marks on the body, but it was carefully wrapped and stuffed into the bag before being discarded,” he said. The suitcase was found in a drainage pit near the service road in Kosamba.

Identification Through Tattoo
Police believe the woman might be from another state, as her hand had a tattoo, which could help establish her identity. The body was sent to Kosamba Health Center for post-mortem, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further details about the crime.
