Suraj Revanna Arrested in Sexual Exploitation Case: Youth Alleges Forced Homosexual Relations by JDS Leader at Farmhouse

After JDS leader Prajwal Revanna was implicated in the Karnataka sex scandal, his brother Suraj Revanna was also arrested by the police on Sunday, June 23. A case of sexual exploitation has been filed against him as well. A party worker has accused Suraj of having homosexual relationships.

Chetan KS, a young man, claimed that on June 16, JDS MLC Suraj Revanna called him to his farmhouse, where he forcibly sexually exploited him.

The young man filed an FIR against Suraj at the Holenarsipura police station in Hassan district on Saturday. The police have registered a case against Suraj under sections 377, 342, and 506 of the IPC.

Prajwal Revanna and Suraj Revanna are sons of JDS MLA HD Revanna and grandsons of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda. Suraj’s elder brother Prajwal is a former MP of Hassan. Several women have accused Prajwal of sexual harassment, and he is currently in judicial custody until June 24 in connection with these charges.

Allegations by the Young Man: Suraj Threatened to Kill Me

According to an India Today report, the young man stated in his complaint, “Suraj told me that I was alone at the farmhouse and that I didn’t know him or his family.” The young man further mentioned that Suraj threatened to kill him if he did not cooperate.

The young man claimed that Suraj sexually exploited him and then promised to help him advance politically. After the incident, the young man messaged Suraj about it, to which Suraj responded, saying not to worry and that everything would be fine.

Suraj Revanna Accuses Young Man of Extortion

On the other hand, Suraj Revanna has accused Chetan of attempted extortion. In this regard, Suraj Revanna’s associate, Shivakumar, filed an FIR against Chetan and his brother-in-law on Friday, June 21.

In his complaint, Shivakumar stated that Chetan initially befriended and later began working for the Suraj Revanna Brigade. Recently, Chetan asked for money to support his family, but Shivakumar refused.

Following this, Chetan threatened to file a sexual harassment case against Suraj Revanna. Shivakumar claimed that Chetan demanded ₹5 crore but later reduced his demand to ₹2 crore.

Three Sexual Harassment Cases Against Prajwal Revanna

Prajwal Revanna was arrested on May 31 at Bengaluru Airport in connection with the Karnataka sex scandal. He had returned to India 35 days after fleeing to Germany. Prajwal left the country on April 27, a day after the elections for the Hassan Lok Sabha seat.

On April 26, several pen drives were found in public places in Bengaluru. It was claimed that these pen drives contained 3,000 to 5,000 videos showing Prajwal sexually harassing numerous women, with the women’s faces not blurred.

Following this, on April 28, a woman working at Prajwal’s house filed a sexual harassment complaint against him. So far, a total of three FIRs have been registered against Prajwal, involving charges of rape, molestation, blackmail, and threats.

What is the Karnataka Sex Scandal?

The Karnataka sex scandal involves allegations of sexual harassment and exploitation against JDS leader Prajwal Revanna. The scandal came to light when a woman working at Prajwal’s house filed a sexual harassment complaint against him. On April 24, several pen drives were discovered in public places in Bengaluru, reportedly containing 3,000 to 5,000 videos showing Prajwal sexually harassing numerous women.

As the case gained attention, the state government formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter. Three FIRs have been registered against Prajwal, encompassing charges of rape, molestation, blackmail, and threats.

The SIT investigation revealed that Prajwal had sexually exploited over 50 women, ranging in age from 22 to 61 years. Among these victims, 12 women were reportedly raped, while the others were subjected to various forms of sexual exploitation through different inducements.
