Tragedy in Surat: Generator Fumes Suspected in Deaths of Three Senior Citizens

A shocking incident was reported in Bhatha village of Surat, where three senior citizens were found dead inside a room. Initial investigations suggest that the tragedy may have been caused by inhalation of toxic fumes from a running generator kept inside the closed room. A police team rushed to the spot upon receiving information about the incident.

Generator Left Running Overnight; Smoke Filled the Room

According to preliminary reports, the generator was left on throughout the night, and its smoke filled the unventilated room. This is believed to have caused suffocation, leading to the deaths of one man and two women. All three deceased individuals were senior citizens who were sleeping in the same room at the time.

When family members arrived at the house in the morning, they found all three unresponsive. Police are currently investigating whether the cause of death was due to generator fumes or other factors. The bodies were sent to Civil Hospital for post-mortem. The exact cause of death will be confirmed once the forensic (FSL) and post-mortem reports are available.

Police Statement: Strong Odour Detected Inside the Room

PI K.L. Gade of Pal Police Station said they received a call early morning reporting the deaths of three people in Bhatha village. “The location is near a cricket ground and farm, where the family served as watchkeepers. Upon arrival, we found an elderly man and two women dead inside the locked room. A generator was running inside,” he said.
