Amid the New Year celebrations in Maharashtra, a violent clash has erupted over the issue of honking horns. Two groups clashed violently, throwing stones at each other, which resulted in several vehicles being set on fire. Between 12 to 15 shops have been torched in the incident.
Minor Dispute Over Honking Sparks Violence in Maharashtra
According to reports, Shiv Sena minister Gulabrao Patil’s family was traveling to Paldhi village on the night of December 31st in a car. During the journey, the driver honked the horn, which angered a group of young men.
The youths verbally abused the driver and even physically attacked him. Following this, reports suggest that some Shiv Sena members, in response to the abuse, drove their vehicle into the youths. After the incident, a group of young men from Paldhi village and Shiv Sena activists organized a rally. The situation escalated, and an enraged crowd began throwing stones and setting vehicles on fire.
Mob Sets 12 to 15 Shops on Fire in Maharashtra
After the incident, two groups confronted each other and began throwing stones at one another. The enraged crowd set vehicles on fire, and in the chaos, between 12 to 15 shops were also set ablaze.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a police convoy arrived at the scene and took control of the situation. To prevent further violence and maintain peace, the police have also deployed additional security measures in the area.
Case Filed Against 25, 10 Arrested in Connection with Violence
The stone-throwing and arson incidents in Jalgaon have caused widespread panic. The police have launched investigations in various areas of Jalgaon and have also set up additional security. They have begun searching for suspects, and as a result, a case has been filed against 25 individuals. Nearly 10 people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
