Bajaj Freedom-125 CNG Bike Price Cut by ₹10,000: Now Starts at ₹89,997, Offers 330km Range

Bajaj Auto has slashed the price of its CNG bike, the Freedom 125, by up to ₹10,000. The base drum variant is now ₹5,000 cheaper, while the mid-spec drum LED variant has seen a reduction of ₹10,000. However, the top variant retains its price of ₹1.10 lakh. After this price cut, the bike is priced between ₹89,997 and ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

Bajaj Announces Price Reduction for World’s First CNG Bike

Within six months of its launch, Bajaj has announced a price reduction for the world’s first CNG bike. The Bajaj Freedom 125 was launched in India on July 5, 2024. The bike offers two fuel options: a 2-liter petrol tank and a 2 kg CNG tank. A full refill of both tanks provides a mileage of 330 km.

Switch Between Petrol and CNG with a Single Button

Riders can easily switch between CNG and petrol modes at the press of a button. The bike has undergone more than 11 safety tests. Remarkably, the tank did not leak even after being subjected to a 10-ton load. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari claimed that the cost of running the CNG two-wheeler would be approximately ₹1 per kilometer.

Mileage of 100 km/kg on CNG

When fully filled, the CNG tank weighs 18 kg. The company claims a mileage of 100 km/kg on CNG and 65 km/l on petrol. The bike is equipped with a 125cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 9.5 PS of power and 9.7 Nm of peak torque. This engine is compatible with both petrol and CNG.

  1. Longest Seat in the Segment: The Freedom 125 boasts a seat length of 785 mm.
  2. Dual Fuel Tank Cap: A single cap is provided for refueling both petrol and CNG.
  3. Compact CNG Tank: A 2 kg CNG tank is placed under the seat.
  4. Robust Frame and Suspension: It features a sturdy trellis frame and segment-first linked monoshock suspension.
  5. Bluetooth Connectivity: The bike includes reverse LED instrumentation with Bluetooth connectivity.
  6. Global Exports: It will be exported to Egypt, Tanzania, Colombia, Peru, Bangladesh, and Indonesia.

Bajaj to Introduce CNG Bikes in Other Segments

Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, stated that the company aims to cater to cost-conscious consumers with its CNG models. Bajaj plans to expand its CNG bike portfolio to include models with 100cc, 125cc, and 150-160cc engines.
