Important News: Passport Services Suspended Nationwide for 5 Days, Scheduled Appointments to be Rescheduled
If you are planning to get a new passport, here’s some crucial information for you. For the next 5 days, no appointments will be available for passport applications. From 8 PM tonight, August 29, until the morning of September 2, the passport department’s portal will be closed across the country. Any previously scheduled appointments will also be rescheduled to a later time.

If you have already applied for a passport and have an appointment scheduled between August 30 and September 2, you will need to reschedule it for another date.
As a result, applicants across the country, including Delhi, may face inconvenience. Additionally, no new passport applications can be submitted during this period.
What Did the Passport Department Say?
According to the information provided by the Passport Department, due to technical reasons, the portal will be non-functional for five days. This will affect the passport service centers, regional passport offices, police verifications for applicants, and the operations of the Ministry of External Affairs.
The Passport Department had previously informed applicants who had booked online appointments well in advance.
