Palak Muchhal Breaks Silence on Smriti Mandhana–Palash Muchhal Wedding Postponement
Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal were scheduled to tie the knot on November 23. However, the wedding was postponed after an unexpected medical emergency in Mandhana’s family. Her father, Srinivas Mandhana, reportedly fell seriously ill and is currently undergoing treatment.
Wedding Postponed Due to Medical Emergency
According to reports, Mandhana’s father suffered health complications on the morning of the wedding day, leading the families to defer the ceremony indefinitely. Following the development, the cricketer removed all engagement and wedding-related posts from her social media handles, sparking widespread speculation online.

Palak Muchhal Requests Privacy
Breaking her silence, playback singer and Palash Muchhal’s sister, Palak Muchhal, issued a statement on Instagram urging people to respect both families’ privacy during this sensitive period.
She wrote, “Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been postponed due to the health condition of Smriti’s father. We request everyone to respect the families’ privacy during this difficult time.”
Manager Confirms Health Update
Smriti Mandhana’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, confirmed that her father experienced a cardiac issue and had to be rushed to the hospital.
“On Sunday morning, Mr. Srinivas Mandhana began feeling unwell while having breakfast. Initially, we waited, assuming he would recover soon, but his condition didn’t improve. An ambulance was called, and he was admitted to the hospital. He remains under observation,” Mishra said.
Following the news, Palash Muchhal also reportedly suffered health discomfort and was briefly hospitalized but was discharged shortly after.
Palash Had Already Decided to Delay the Wedding
Earlier, Palash and Palak’s mother revealed that Palash shares a close bond with Mandhana’s father.
“Upon learning about his condition, Palash immediately decided he would not go ahead with the wedding until Smriti’s father fully recovers,” she said.
Wedding Was to Take Place in Sangli
The couple’s wedding ceremony was scheduled for Sunday in Sangli, Maharashtra. Several Women’s World Cup–winning players had already attended pre-wedding functions, including the haldi and mehendi ceremonies. However, due to the sudden medical emergency, the event has now been postponed indefinitely.
Both families are currently prioritizing Mandhana’s father’s health and have requested the public to avoid speculation.
