The first qualifier of IPL 2024 witnessed an exhilarating match where KKR defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 8 wickets. Kolkata Knight Riders’ captain Shreyas Iyer received two lifelines. The first lifeline came in the 10th over of the innings. Iyer scooped a ball on the first ball of the 10th over, but it didn’t connect well, and the ball went high up in the air towards mid-wicket. During this, Rahul Tripathi came towards Iyer, causing a miscommunication between him and the fielder Henrik Klassen, who dropped the catch, and the ball slipped from the wicketkeeper’s hands. Travis Head gave Iyer another lifeline. He dropped Iyer’s easy catch in the 11th over. Shreyas took advantage of it.
