Delhi Fans Go Wild as Virat Kohli Plays Ranji, Chaos Erupts at Stadium

Former captain of Team India, Virat Kohli, has come to play a Ranji match after almost 13 years. Kohli is playing for the Delhi team. The match against Railways began on January 30 at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. Delhi won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Fans Go Wild to See Virat Kohli

Delhi fans were thrilled to see Virat Kohli in action. Large crowds began gathering outside Arun Jaitley Stadium as early as 3 AM. The excitement created chaos as fans rushed to enter the stadium, resulting in some injuries.

People started pushing each other near Gate 16, and as a result, a few fans fell and got injured near the entry gate.

Three Fans Injured in Chaos at the Stadium

The chaos at the stadium led to three fans getting injured. Additionally, one of the police bikes was also damaged. Some people even left behind their shoes and slippers in the rush. 

Injured fans received treatment at the gate, thanks to the security staff of the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) and police officers. In the attempt to control the crowd, one police officer was also injured.

Virat Kohli Returns to Play Ranji Match After 13 Years

It is worth noting that Kohli last played a Ranji match in 2012. His final Ranji match at that time was against Uttar Pradesh in Ghaziabad. 

Now, after almost 13 years, he is back to play a Ranji match. Initially, it seemed like the match wouldn’t be broadcasted live, but in the last moment, a major change took place, and the match is now being telecasted live.
