Swiggy Launches ‘Scenes’ Service: Book Tickets for Upcoming Events, Competes with Zomato’s District App

Food delivery platform Swiggy has launched the ‘Scenes’ service under its out-of-home vertical, DiningOut. This service allows users to book tickets for upcoming events. Following its recent listing in the stock market, Swiggy introduced this service to promote its event and ticketing business.

The service has been added to Swiggy’s native app in the DiningOut section. Events such as Christmas, New Year parties, live music, and DJ nights are currently listed, with tickets available for sale through the Scenes service in the DiningOut section of the Swiggy app. The Scenes service is currently live in Mumbai and Bangalore, and will soon be launched in other cities.

Swiggy Competes with Zomato’s ‘District’ App, but Movie Ticket Booking Not Available

With this service, Swiggy will compete with Zomato’s ‘District’ app, which was recently launched for iOS and Android users. The District app offers services such as movie bookings, sports events, and table reservations at restaurants. However, Swiggy’s ‘Scenes’ service does not include movie ticket bookings.

Zomato has also launched Blinkit Bistro, marking its entry into the quick commerce sector with 10-minute food delivery. In early December, Amazon joined the race for rapid delivery with its quick commerce branch, competing with Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, and BigBasket.
