Launch of Updated Jeep Wrangler in India: New Design for Off-Roader SUV to Compete with Upcoming Mahindra 5-door Thar
American car manufacturer Jeep is all set to launch its popular off-roader SUV, the Wrangler 2024 Edition, in India today, on the 22nd of April. The company has unveiled the facelifted model of the Wrangler in the global market earlier this year, and now it’s making its debut in the Indian market with cosmetic and feature upgrades.
The Jeep Wrangler is currently available in two variants – Unlimited and Rubicon, with ex-showroom prices starting at Rs. 62.65 lakhs and Rs. 66.65 lakhs respectively.
In India, it will compete with SUVs like the Land Rover Defender, upcoming 5-door Thar, and 5-door Gurkha. The company has recently unveiled its unveiling. Here, we’ll be discussing the updated features and specifications available in the car.
2024 Jeep Wrangler: Exterior Design
The facelifted model of the Wrangler features an all-black out grille at the front, with a distinct 7-slot design that appears sleeker compared to the current model. The global spec Wrangler comes with alloy wheels ranging from 17 to 20 inches, available in 10 different designs, accommodating tires up to 35 inches.
There are numerous roof options available for SUVs. Standard models include a soft top, body-color hard top, black hard top, a combination of hard and soft tops, and a sunrider top, all designed to cater to various preferences of open-air enthusiasts. However, for the India-spec model, limited options will be available for alloy wheels and roof.
Jeep Wrangler Facelift: Interior
The dashboard design layout of the SUV has undergone a transformation, featuring a central 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is standard across all variants. The infotainment screen operates on Jeep’s U-Connect 5 system, which integrates connected features into the SUV.
It includes 62 famous trails off-road guide, aiding navigation during off-roading sessions. Furthermore, the air conditioning vents have been redesigned as well. The rest of the cabin layout remains largely unchanged. It still boasts 12-way power-adjustable front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a new semi-digital instrument cluster.
Jeep Wrangler Facelift: Performance
The pre-facelifted Jeep Wrangler in India is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine, delivering 70hp and 400Nm of torque. For transmission, the engine is coupled with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox and Jeep’s Selec-Trac full-time 4WD system as standard.
The Wrangler facelift will come with a single powertrain option in India. In terms of safety, it includes 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill start assist, electronic roll mitigation, automatic headlamps, rear sensors, and camera integration.
