Yesterday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced its initial list of 195 candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. With the electoral battle underway, the BJP has launched the Donation for Nation Building campaign, urging people to contribute towards their cause. This move signifies the party’s readiness to contest the elections and underscores the importance of financial support from the public.

PM Modi’s Generous Contribution: Rs. 2,000 Donation to BJP

In a notable gesture of support, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has kickstarted his contributions by donating Rs. 2,000 to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This marks the Prime Minister’s inaugural donation as he shares the donation slip on social media, encouraging others to join in the cause. PM Modi, leading by example, emphasizes the significance of financial backing for the BJP’s economic strengthening and resilience. 

By actively participating in the Donation for Nation Building campaign, the Prime Minister aims to bolster the party’s financial resources for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. BJP Announces Names of 195 Candidates

It is notable that yesterday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced the first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. It is worth mentioning that the list includes names of stalwarts such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, among others.

PM Modi Appeals for Public Donations

Prime Minister Modi has appealed to the public for donations. The Supreme Court has prohibited the Modi government from redeeming election bonds submitted after an eight-week period, which aided political parties in collecting funds. 

These bonds, which allowed anonymous donations, became a major component of political funding, with several regional parties relying heavily on them for financial assistance. For the BJP, election bonds represent a significant portion of their income, helping to sustain political momentum and indicating their pivotal role in influencing political dynamics.

BJP’s Revenue Surges to Rs. 2410 Crore

Following the implementation of electoral bonds in the financial year 2018-19, the revenue of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has soared to Rs. 2410 crore, rising significantly from Rs. 1027 crore. 

In contrast, the Congress party’s income increased from Rs. 199 crore to Rs. 918 crore. This notable surge in revenue underscores the impact of electoral bonds on political funding dynamics in India, with the BJP experiencing a substantial increase in financial resources compared to previous years.
