Massive Fire Engulfs Seven Scrap Warehouses in Dungri Falia, Vapi

Vapi: Panic broke out in Dungri Falia, within the limits of Vapi Municipality, on Tuesday morning after a fire erupted in one scrap warehouse. The blaze quickly spread to six nearby warehouses, creating widespread chaos. The fire’s intensity and the thick smoke triggered fear among local residents, although no casualties were reported.

Warehouses Located in Residential Area Raise Safety Concerns

The incident occurred in a residential area where multiple scrap warehouses were operating illegally. The sudden fire and its rapid spread left residents terrified as the flames reached dangerously close to their homes. Eyewitnesses reported seeing flames and smoke rising high into the sky.

Emergency Services Take Swift Action

Firefighters from Vapi Municipality, GIDC, and the Notified Area rushed to the scene. Despite the severity of the fire, the fire brigade managed to control it after nearly four hours of effort. Dungra Police also reached the spot to assist with crowd control and initiate an investigation.

Growing Concerns Over Illegal Scrap Warehouses

The fire has once again highlighted the increasing risk posed by illegally operating scrap warehouses in residential areas. This incident resulted in the complete destruction of warehouses owned by Sanna Ulla, Ashiq Ali, Riyasat Khan, Gulam Bhikha, Gobri Banjara, Pradhan Banjara, and Lalu Chacha.

Authorities Urged to Take Strict Action

With such fire incidents becoming more frequent, local authorities have renewed efforts to shut down unauthorized scrap warehouses to prevent future disasters and ensure public safety.
