Ather Energy has launched its Eight70TM Warranty Program for the battery of all its electric scooters. Customers opting for Pro Membership, available for ₹4,999, can avail of this scheme. This membership offers an 8-year or 80,000 km warranty on the battery, ensuring peace of mind for EV buyers. The announcement was shared by the company’s CEO, Tarun Mehta, on social media platform X.
Durability of EV Batteries Matters
Ather’s Chief Business Officer, Ravneet Singh Phokela, emphasized that battery durability is a critical factor for EV buyers. The Eight70TM Warranty Program addresses this by offering up to 70% battery health assurance for 8 years.

- Battery Health Assurance: Guaranteed 70% battery health during the warranty period.
- Manufacturing Defect Coverage: Full protection against any manufacturing defects or failures.

- Battery Replacement: If battery health drops below 70% or cell failures occur due to prolonged inactivity, the battery pack will be replaced.
Exclusions in the Warranty
The Eight70TM Warranty excludes coverage for:
- Negligence or misuse by the owner.
- Battery modifications or tampering.
- Theft, accidents, fire, or natural disasters.
- Physical damage or normal wear and tear.
- Issues arising from removing or altering the VIN/BIN numbers.
