On Wednesday night, a tragic accident occurred on National Highway 48 near Golden Chowkdi on the Surat-to-Ahmedabad route. A speeding unidentified vehicle struck a biker, killing him on the spot. Emergency medical services arrived quickly, but the 108 ambulance team declared him dead at the scene. The deceased was identified as 39-year-old Prabhudas Parmar, a resident of Laljipura village near Sokhda in Vadodara.

Female B.Com Student Seriously Injured in Car Collision
In a separate incident, 22-year-old Janviben Shinde, a resident of Khodiyar Nagar and a first-year B.Com student at MS University, was injured while heading to her examination. She was riding her Activa scooter when a car speeding from Nursing Home Crossroads towards Lalbaug hit her near the main gate of Rajmahal.
The impact left the student unconscious. Passersby called an ambulance, and she was first taken to Sayaji Hospital and later shifted to a private hospital for further treatment. Doctors found fractures in her shoulder and leg, prompting immediate surgery.
Police have registered a case and launched a search for the unidentified car driver involved in the incident.
Recent Rise in Fatal Accidents
These accidents come just two days after a similar tragedy near Waghodia Chowkdi, where two young men on a bike lost their lives after being hit by an unknown vehicle. The increasing number of such cases has raised concerns over reckless driving and road safety in Vadodara.
Authorities urge drivers to maintain caution and follow traffic rules to prevent further loss of innocent lives.
