Massive Fire at Ajmer Hotel Claims Four Lives; Mother Throws Child from Window to Save It

A devastating fire broke out around 8 AM at the five-story Naz Hotel located in the congested Diggi Bazaar area of Ajmer. The hotel was reportedly full of tourists at the time, and the flames spread rapidly through the building.

This picture is from the time when the fire broke out with the sound of an explosion. When the locals came out and saw it, they were shocked.

Mother’s Brave Act: Saves Child by Throwing from Window

In a heart-wrenching moment, a mother threw her child from a hotel window to save it from the fire. The infant suffered minor burn injuries and was rushed to Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Hospital. Several others jumped from windows to escape the blaze.

Fire crews are trying to enter the hotel using ladders so that people trapped inside can be evacuated.

Four Confirmed Dead, Several Injured

Dr. Arvind Khare, Superintendent of JLN Hospital, confirmed the deaths of four people. A total of five individuals, including the rescued child, were admitted to the hospital with burn-related injuries.

Rescue teams faced significant challenges due to the narrow access roads leading to the hotel. Several police and fire personnel also fell ill from smoke and heat exhaustion during the operation. Additional SP Himanshu Jangid was on-site with his team coordinating the efforts.

Short Circuit Suspected as Cause

Preliminary reports suggest that the fire was triggered by a short circuit. The building’s electrical systems are under investigation as authorities work to determine the exact cause of the incident.

Eyewitness Mangilal Kalosiya recalled hearing a loud explosion, likely from an air conditioner, followed by thick smoke. “We ran out, called for help, and broke the glass from outside. A woman dropped her child into my arms. Others also jumped to save themselves,” he said.

Fire Brigade Arrived After Delay

Witnesses stated that fire brigade teams reached the scene about 30 minutes after the first alert. Efforts are ongoing to assess the damage and ensure no one remains trapped inside.
