Bike Racing on Jamnagar-Rajkot Highway: One Critically Injured, Five Youths Detained by Police
On Saturday night, a group of youths was caught racing motorcycles on the Jamnagar-Rajkot highway. During the race, one of the riders, Ankit Makwana, crashed into the rear end of a truck at high speed and sustained severe injuries. He is currently undergoing treatment at G.G. Hospital, and his condition is reported to be critical.
Viral Video Triggers Police Action
A video capturing the illegal bike race went viral on social media, showing six riders involved in the incident. Acting swiftly, the Panchkoshi A-Division police team launched an investigation based on the vehicle numbers seen in the video. A case was registered against all six riders under multiple sections for reckless driving and endangering lives.
Five Riders Identified and Detained
Following the investigation, police conducted a combing operation across various parts of Jamnagar city. They successfully detained five out of the six individuals identified in the video:
- Chetan Rajeshbhai Padaliya
- Yasin Karimbhai Babvani
- Chirag Rajeshbhai Padaliya
- Mayur Rambhai Makwana
- Mustafa Ahmadbhai Musani
All five motorcycles used in the race have also been detained by the authorities.
Ongoing Investigation
Police are continuing their efforts to locate the sixth rider and are closely monitoring any further leads related to the case. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of illegal street racing and the strict actions being taken to curb such activities.
