Sodhi from ‘Tarak Mehta’ Still Missing: Facing Financial Crisis, Marriage Plans Ahead

Popular TV serial ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has been a topic of discussion lately. Now, the character Sodhi from this serial, played by Gurucharan Singh, has been missing for six days from Delhi. Gurucharan Singh’s father, Harjeet Singh, has filed a complaint at a Delhi police station regarding his son’s disappearance. Gurucharan Singh was supposed to come to Mumbai from Delhi. However, he never reached Delhi, nor did he arrive home in Mumbai. After his son failed to reach Mumbai, Gurucharan’s father filed a police complaint.

Primary investigation revealed that the actor was planning to get married in a short time. However, financial difficulties were also reportedly troubling him.

₹7,000 withdrawn from ATM, then the phone was switched off

Police have informed that Gurucharan withdrew ₹7,000 from an ATM on April 22nd and then his phone was switched off. His last location was found a few kilometers away from his home in Palam, Delhi.

Police are scanning CCTV footage around his house

Besides, the police have found CCTV footage from the area of Palam, where the actor is seen crossing the road with a bag.Police are also scanning other CCTV cameras around his house to find out which route he took to reach Delhi Airport.

AICWA had appealed

Amidst this, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) President and founder Suresh Shyamlal Gupta has appealed to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor Vini Kumar Saxena to intervene in this matter. Gupta had shared a video on social media making this appeal, stating that the entire Bollywood and Indian film industry stands with Gurucharan’s family.

No information since April 22nd

Actor Gurucharan Singh left Delhi for Mumbai on April 22nd, after which there has been no news from his side.In this case, Gurucharan’s father Harjeet Singh had filed a complaint at Palam Police Station in Delhi at 3 PM on April 25th.

Left the show twice

Gurucharan had been associated with this show since 2008. He left the show in 2013 and rejoined it in 2014 due to public demand. After working for eight years, Gurucharan left the show again in 2020. Now, Balvinder Singh Suri and Roshan Singh are playing the role of his character. After leaving the show, Gurucharan has not appeared in any other serial. He said, “Look, my father had to undergo surgery at that time and because of that, I left the show. There were also some other reasons, and I had to pay attention to him. Life was moving forward and there were other reasons too. I don’t want to talk about it.”

Stayed with parents in Delhi after lockdown

During the lockdown in 2020, he left the show again to take care of his father. After staying away from acting, Gurucharan is currently staying with his parents in Delhi.

Jennifer had filed a case against the producer of the serial, Asit Modi, for caste discrimination. Jennifer said in an interview, “Gurucharan saved me from Asit Modi’s bad behavior in Singapore. When Asit Modi tried to flirt and touch me, Gurucharan intervened and warned Asit Modi to stay away. He knew about Asit Modi’s antics. In May 2023, Gurucharan assured me that he would not speak about it in the media, but he will testify in court if necessary.”

“Suddenly went from his own words”

Jennifer further said, “Suddenly, on June 9, 2023, Gurucharan called me and said that Asit Modi had paid off his remaining three years’ dues. From his words, I realized that now he won’t speak for me. He even said that he could solve things with Asit. Listening to Gurucharan’s words, I felt uneasy because the police had also advised to keep someone in the loop and settle the matter.
