Prakash Bhatt: ICC Match Referee Appointment, Honored by Rahul Dravid – Bhavnagar & Saurashtra Cricketing Achievement

Prakash Bhatt, a former cricketer from Bhavnagar, has been included in the panel of international match referees by the International Cricket Council (ICC). He is among the referees appointed to officiate Test matches played across 12 countries worldwide. Notably, India has contributed four referees to this esteemed panel. In a commendable acknowledgment, Rahul Dravid, the coach of the Indian cricket team, felicitated him on stage for this prestigious achievement.

Prakash Bhatt: Leading the Saurashtra Ranji Trophy Team

Prakash Bhatt has been a stalwart figure as the captain of the Saurashtra Ranji Trophy team. Despite starting his cricketing journey at the age of 12, he has demonstrated remarkable consistency, having played 51 Ranji and 38 List-A matches. Recognized by the BCCI, Bhatt was appointed as a match referee back in 2008, and since then, he has officiated in 59 first-class, 69 List-A, and 128 T20 matches, showcasing his expertise and dedication to the sport.

Prakash Bhatt’s Extensive Journey as a Match Referee

Since 2018, Prakash Bhatt has been actively serving as a match referee in the IPL, officiating in 46 matches. Recently, he also participated as a match referee in women’s cricket at the Asian Games held in China. As an international match referee, Bhatt will oversee cricket matches of associate nations, including under-19 games, among other international fixtures. Bhatt has expressed his deep affinity for cricket, mentioning that it has been his passion since childhood, and even after retiring from first-class cricket, he remains closely associated with the sport.
