Former cricketer Vinod Kambli reassured fans on Tuesday, saying he is feeling better now. From his hospital bed, Kambli sang the iconic song, “We Are the Champions… We Will Be Back,” and urged people to avoid alcohol, stating that it harms both oneself and their loved ones.

Vinod Kambli Expresses Gratitude Towards Sachin Tendulkar

The 52-year-old former cricketer stated, “I will never leave cricket because I remember the centuries and double centuries I scored. I am grateful to Sachin Tendulkar, whose blessings have always been with me.”

Kambli was admitted to a hospital in Thane late on December 21 after his health deteriorated. Medical reports revealed clotting in his brain. He was recently seen at an event honoring coach Ramakant Achrekar, where a video of him with Sachin Tendulkar went viral. Kambli had previously suffered a heart attack in 2013, after which Tendulkar helped facilitate his heart surgery.

Vinod Kambli Thanks Doctors for Their Support

In the video, Kambli is seen smiling while lying on the hospital bed. He expressed his gratitude to the doctors, saying, “I am alive because of the doctors here. I will follow their advice. People will see what I will teach them.” Speaking about Sachin, he added, “He is in London, but you all will let him know.”

Doctors Monitor Kambli’s Health Closely

Dr. Vivek Trivedi, who is treating Kambli, stated that his health is being closely monitored. Further medical tests will be conducted on Tuesday. Dr. Trivedi also mentioned that the hospital’s in-charge, S. Singh, has decided to provide free lifetime treatment for Kambli at their facility.
