Bank Holidays in May: 14 Days of Closure, 8 Days Without Banking Services Except Sundays and 2 Saturdays

In the month of May, banks across India will remain closed for business for a stretch of 14 days. Due to various reasons, banks in different locations will not operate for up to 8 days. Additionally, they will also be closed on 4 Sundays and 2 Saturdays.

The month will commence with a holiday on May 1st, observed as Maharashtra Day or Labour Day, affecting banking operations in cities like Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, and Trivandrum. Furthermore, due to Lok Sabha elections, several states will witness bank closures for 3 days in May.

Banking Services Available Online

Even during bank holidays, you can continue to manage your finances through online banking and ATMs.

Whether it’s withdrawing money, transferring funds, or conducting other transactions, you can rely on these digital services without any impact from the bank closures.
