In the BZ Financial Scam in Himatnagar, a video of Dharmasinh Zala, the MLA from Bayad, praising Bhupendra Singh Zala, the CEO of the fraud group, went viral on Thursday. During the inauguration event of BZ Global Education Campus on January 18, Dharmasinh had referred to Bhupendra Singh as his friend and said that Bhupendra knows how to make sense of things like ‘one plus one equals two and two plus two equals four.’ After the video went viral, Dharmasinh immediately changed his statement, clarifying that he intended to say that the number of students and staff at the institution would double, and his words had been misinterpreted. There is also a growing discussion that Bhupendra Singh Zala has connections with Bhikhusinh Parmar, a state-level minister in the Gujarat government. It has emerged that Bhikhusinh’s son, Karan Singh, is a trustee at the “Maitri Foundation,” an organization started by the accused Bhupendra Singh. When Dharmasinh publicly praised Bhupendra Singh, Bhikhusinh was seen clapping beside him.

Photos of Bhupendra Singh Zala attending events with BJP leaders, including MPs like Dipsingh, ministers like Bhikhusinh, and MLAs including Dharmasinh, as well as with state president C.R. Patil, have surfaced. Photos of the accused with prominent BJP leaders have also gone viral. However, BJP leaders are currently maintaining silence on this matter.

“We Have Nothing to Do with This”: Sabarkantha BJP President

Sabarkantha District BJP President Kanu Patel remarked on Bhupendra Zala’s affiliation with the BJP, stating that any citizen of the country can become a member of the BJP. However, he clarified that Bhupendra Singh is not a primary member of the party. He mentioned that the police are investigating the criminal activities Bhupendra has committed, and the truth will come out through the investigation. He also stated that the BJP has no involvement in this matter.

Sabarkantha District Congress President Ashok Patel said that only if the ruling party has “four hands” can someone manage to pull off a scam of ₹6000 crores. He claimed that the photos with BJP leaders prove this connection.
