Kankaria Carnival 2024: 7-Day Event, Performances by Kinjal Dave & Geeta Rabari, No-Parking Zone and QR Code for Route Guidance (Dec 25-31)
The much-awaited Kankaria Carnival 2024, organized by the Municipal Corporation, is set to commence tomorrow. This year, the event will run from December 25 to December 31, featuring exciting new attractions like a Drone Show, Underwater Dance, and the thrilling Human Pyro Show (a fire dance performance inspired by Dubai).
Special Performances by Gujarati Artists
During the seven-day carnival, three days will spotlight performances by renowned Gujarati artists:
- December 27: Ishani Dave
- December 28: Geetaben Rabari
- December 30: Sairam Dave
- December 31: Kinjal Dave
All performances will take place at Stage 1, Pushpakunj, Kankaria.

Visitors can enjoy the Kankaria Carnival for free, with entry allowed from 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM throughout the event.

The Municipal Corporation has set up three stages for the Kankaria Carnival 2024:

1,000 Children to Attempt Guinness World Record
As part of the Kankaria Carnival 2024, 1,000 children from municipal schools and Anganwadi centers will collectively unwrap and consume candies/chocolates in a synchronized manner, aiming to secure a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Carnival Parade with a Unique Theme
For the first time, a Carnival Parade based on the theme “Developed Gujarat, Developed India” will also be organized, showcasing the state’s progress and cultural vibrance.

No Parking Zones Declared by Traffic Police for Kankaria Carnival
To ensure smooth traffic management during the Kankaria Carnival 2024, the Traffic Police have declared specific areas as No Parking Zones from December 25 to December 31.
No Parking Zone Areas
- Kankaria Chowki Triveni to Railway Yard via Khokhra Bridge.
- Dedki Garden to Siddhi Vinayak Hospital Crossroads.
- Machhipir Crossroads to Pushpakunj Circle via Apsara Cinema Crossroads.
- Football Crossroads to Lohana Mahajanwadi, looping back to Kankaria Chowki.
- Entire Kankaria Lake periphery.
Restrictions
- Two-wheelers and any other types of vehicles will not be allowed to stop in these zones.
The Traffic Police aim to maintain seamless traffic flow and enhance visitor safety during the carnival. Visitors are advised to use designated parking spaces and cooperate with authorities.
Entire Area Declared as “No U-Turn Zone”
To enhance traffic flow and prevent congestion during the Kankaria Carnival 2024, the authorities have declared the entire Kankaria Lake area as a No U-Turn Zone.
Key Guidelines
- No Vehicle Parking: Vehicles are strictly prohibited from parking anywhere other than the designated parking spots.
- No U-Turns Allowed: Despite the two-lane circular road around the Kankaria Lake area, vehicles will not be allowed to take U-turns from any point.

Road Restrictions for Heavy Vehicles During Kankaria Carnival 2024
As per the Police Commissioner’s Notification, the following roads will be restricted for heavy goods and passenger vehicles from December 25 to December 31, 2024:
- Dhanilimda Crossroads to Shah Alam, heading towards Kankaria.
- Chandola Police Chowki to Shah Alam, heading towards Kankaria.
- From Maninagar Railway Station to Maninagar Crossroads, proceeding towards Ram Bagh Crossroads, and then towards Kankaria.
- From Kagdapith T-Point to Vanijya Bhavan, heading towards Kankaria.
- From Raipur Darwaza to Big Bazaar, then through Parsi Agiyari Crossroads towards Kankaria.
- From Guruji Bridge to Aavkar Hall Crossroads, then through Hirabhai Tower to Bhairavnath Crossroads, heading towards Kankaria.
These restrictions aim to regulate traffic and prevent congestion, ensuring smooth and safe travel for all visitors during the carnival.
