Man Caught by LCB Printing ₹1.20 Lakh in Fake ₹500 Notes for Bhadarvi Poonam Fair in Ambaji

Today is the fifth day of the Bhadarvi Poonam fair. The grand fair at the shrine of Goddess Jagatjanani Amba is being celebrated with great enthusiasm. A large influx of devotees is being witnessed at the Shaktipeeth of Ambaji. All roads leading to Ambaji are filled with devotees. Singing and dancing, devotees are arriving at the Ambaji temple carrying flags in their hands. There is a heavy crowd of devotees from the entrance path of the temple to the temple itself. Over the past five days, more than 2 million devotees have had the opportunity to seek the blessings of Goddess Amba.

Counterfeit Notes Seized from Youth at the Fair

Taking advantage of the crowd at the Bhadarvi Poonam fair, a youth was caught by the Banaskantha LCB for attempting to exchange counterfeit notes. In the Ambaji Bhadarvi fair, 240 counterfeit notes of ₹500 denomination were seized. The LCB apprehended an individual with counterfeit Indian currency worth ₹1.2 lakh. This person had printed the ₹500 notes at home using a color printer.
