State-Level Kabaddi Player Dies Suddenly at Home After Gym

On January 4, the Chief Minister inaugurated the state-level Khel Mahakumbh 3.0 in Rajkot. The event began at the athletics ground of Saurashtra University. Amid this celebration, tragedy struck as a state-level kabaddi player from Siddhi Vinayak Apartment, Surat Pal, passed away suddenly, leaving his family in shock. Initial reports suggest the cause of death might be a heart attack.

Sudden Demise of Surat Kabaddi Player

Jay Prajapati, a state-level kabaddi player from Surat, returned home after playing kabaddi and working out at the gym in the morning. He sat on the sofa in the hall with a cup of tea but later collapsed. When his family returned home at night, they found him lifeless. Police have begun post-mortem procedures and further investigations are underway.

According to Jay’s cousin Solvi, 25-year-old Jay Mukundbhai Prajapati, a resident of Siddhi Vinayak Apartment in Pal, was involved in trademark registration work. His mother works in the diamond industry, and his father is in the furniture business. As part of his daily routine, Jay played kabaddi and went to the gym before coming home, putting water for a bath, and sitting on the sofa with tea. His family had left for their respective work.

Found Unconscious on the Sofa at Night

When the family returned at night and opened the door, they found Jay unconscious on the sofa. He was rushed to the hospital with the help of 108 services, where doctors declared him dead. Jay’s family was left in shock, as he was healthy and actively played kabaddi at the state level for Surat’s team. A vessel for heating water in the kitchen had also burnt, and his half-filled cup of tea was still on the sofa. The Pal police are currently investigating the incident.

Represented Surat District Kabaddi Team

Friends shared that Jay had been playing kabaddi since 11th grade. Over the past 6-7 years, he participated in junior and senior state-level kabaddi tournaments and the Khel Mahakumbh, bringing pride to Surat. At the time of his demise, Jay was representing the Surat District Association’s kabaddi team. He had completed his graduation from KP Commerce College.
