Online Cleaner Service Faces Hurdles as Youths Rob 85 Lakhs Worth of Gold in Vadodara

In the affluent village of the city, three cleaning service personnel, called for online cleaning, stole a gold chain worth Rs. 85 lakhs from a house. Based on the complaint filed by the homeowner, the taluka police have registered a case of trust fraud and embezzlement against the accused.

Mother-Son Duo at Home

In the house where the robbery occurred, a mother and son were present. The taluka police received a complaint that Mayank Chauhan, along with his wife, resides with three other individuals in the Milestone Residency in Chevad. Mayank works as a production manager in a company called Kergrip Solutions Private Limited, and his wife and father also work in the same company. The mother and son live alone in the house.

Online Booking for Diwali Cleaning

Mayank Chauhan, during Diwali, booked cleaning services along with other services through the Urban (US) online app, Production Home Deep Cleaning. The booking was made for the morning of November 10, 2023, and a payment of Rs. 999 was made via Google Pay. After completing the work for Rs. 5,299, Mayank was asked for additional money.

Denial of Theft Allegations

Three individuals sent by the agency to clean Mayank Chauhan’s house were accused of theft. During the cleaning, Mayank’s mother and his 8-year-old son were present at home. While conducting a search, when Mayank’s mother did not find the gold chain in the cupboard, she confronted Mayank, who denied any involvement in the theft.

Police Begin Investigation

Mayank Chauhan reported the alleged conspiracy regarding the theft of the gold chain valued at Rs. 85,943 during the cleaning activity. Based on the complaint, the taluka police initiated an investigation and registered a case against the accused individuals for the alleged theft of the gold chain. The police have taken appropriate action based on the evidence provided in the complaint.
