Steps to Download Your Aadhaar PDF

Here is the process to download your Aadhaar card:

  1. First, visit the official UIDAI website at myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
  2. Go to the “My Aadhaar” section and click on “Download Aadhaar.”
  3. On the next page, you will see the option “Download Aadhaar.” Click on it.
  4. Enter your Aadhaar number and the captcha code, then click on the “Request OTP” button.
  5. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number from UIDAI. Enter this OTP in the provided box and click on “Download Aadhaar.”
  6. After downloading the Aadhaar, open the PDF file by entering the first four letters of your name and your birth year as the password.

Replacing Your Aadhaar Card

If your Aadhaar card is lost or damaged, you can easily get a new one from the comfort of your home. Additionally, you can also opt for a PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) card, which is a type of plastic card printed with Aadhaar information.

  1. First, visit either uidai.gov.in or resident.uidai.gov.in.
  2. Click on the ‘Order Aadhaar Card’ service.
  3. Enter your 10-digit Aadhaar number (UID), 16-digit Virtual Identification Number (VID), or 28-digit Enrollment ID.
  4. Note down the security code.
  5. Choose the option to receive OTP on your registered mobile number. If your mobile number is not registered, you can enter an optional number if available.
  6. Click on ‘Send OTP.’
  7. After agreeing to the ‘Terms and Conditions,’ verify OTP. (Note: Click on the hyperlink to view details)
  8. After completing the OTP verification process, click on ‘Submit.’
  9. Then click on ‘Make payment.’ You will be directed to the payment gateway, where you can choose options like credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.
  10. Once the payment is successful, you will receive a receipt with a digital signature. You will also receive a service request number via SMS, which you can use to track the process until the card is delivered.

Making a New Card Offline

If you prefer not to make your new Aadhaar card online, you can still do it offline. For this, you’ll need to visit an Aadhaar card center, where you can apply for a new Aadhaar card. 

These centers are equipped to handle various Aadhaar-related services, including issuing new cards.

Ordering an Aadhaar PVC Card: Step by Step Guide

Here are the steps to order your Aadhaar PVC card:

  1. First, visit either uidai.gov.in or resident.uidai.gov.in.
  2. Click on the ‘Order Aadhaar Card’ service.
  3. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number (UID), 16-digit Virtual Identification Number (VID), or 28-digit Enrollment ID.
  4. Note down the security code.
  5. Choose the option to receive OTP on your registered mobile number. If your mobile number is not registered, you can enter an alternative number if available.
  6. Click on ‘Send OTP.’

Aadhaar Card Comes in 3 Formats

Currently, Aadhaar cards are available in three formats – Aadhaar letter, e-Aadhaar, and PVC card. The PVC card was launched a few years ago. 

According to UIDAI, Aadhaar cards are valid in all three formats. Citizens can choose the Aadhaar format according to their convenience.
