Launching Soon: Apple Intelligence – AI Features Including Call Recording and Customized Home Screen, Plus Send SMS via Satellite

Apple has announced a slew of new artificial intelligence features at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024. Among the highlights are the ability to transfer money with a single tap from your iPhone to another phone, call recording, and customized home screens. Branded as “Apple Intelligence,” these features will be available on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and devices with M1 silicon chips, including iPads and Macs. 

Additionally, Siri will now integrate Chat GPT. Apple also unveiled its latest operating systems: iOS 18, watchOS 11, tvOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. The event is taking place in Cupertino, California, and runs until June 14.

The event was started by Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Apple Intelligence to Launch by End of Year

Apple has announced that its new “Apple Intelligence” features will be available by the end of this year. These AI capabilities will be integrated into iPhone 15 Pro and later models. iPad users with M1 and newer chipsets will also benefit from these advanced features. 

Apple emphasizes that this is just the beginning, with Apple Intelligence set to debut on iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. This marks a significant step forward in enhancing the functionality and user experience of Apple’s ecosystem.

Personalized Experience with iOS 18

With the release of iOS 18, iPhone users will be able to customize their device experience more than ever before. This includes the ability to redesign the home screen, lock screen, and control center. 

Apple is now allowing users to change the position and color of icons on the home screen, a feature that has been available on Android devices for years. These enhancements will enable a more personalized and user-friendly interface on iPhones.

iOS 18 introduces several exciting features for iPhone users, enhancing both functionality and personalization:

  • Call Recording: Users can now record calls directly on their iPhones.
  • Message Scheduling: Schedule messages to be sent at a later time.

  • Satellite SMS: Send SMS messages via satellite.
  • App Customization: Change the color of app icons.
  • Face ID App Lock: Lock apps using Face ID for added security.
  • Custom Emojis: Create and use personalized emojis.

Advanced Cleanup Tools with Apple Intelligence

Apple Intelligence will include a new cleanup tool to help users remove unwanted background objects from photos. Additionally, users will have the option to create memory movies easily by simply writing a text prompt. 

These features aim to enhance photo editing and multimedia creation on Apple devices, providing more tools for users to personalize their content.

Siri Integrates ChatGPT with New Capabilities

Apple has announced a partnership with OpenAI to integrate ChatGPT into Siri and other Apple apps. Based on GPT-40, ChatGPT will be available for free on iPadOS 18, macOS 15, and iOS 18. Siri will now have on-screen awareness, allowing it to understand and act on what’s displayed on the user’s screen. 

Users can give voice commands to perform actions like finding specific pictures or making calculations. Siri’s new capabilities will extend beyond Apple apps to third-party applications as well.

Apple Vision Pro to be Available in Eight Countries

Apple’s Mixed Reality (MR) headset, Vision Pro, will be available for purchase in China, Japan, and Singapore starting June 28. Additionally, it will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, and the UK beginning July 12. This rollout marks the global expansion of Apple’s latest innovative device.
