Concerns Over Rishabh Pant’s IPL Participation: NCA Fitness Clearance Not Received; Not Included in Delhi Team

Rishabh Pant has not yet received fitness clearance to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as of now. Delhi Capitals had sought Pant’s fitness report, but the team management has not received any response from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) so far. IPL is set to commence from March 22.

According to sources, Pant has not yet received the fitness certificate from BCCI. This has raised concerns about his participation in the IPL. The National Cricket Academy (NCA) authorities do not consider Pant fit enough to play matches.

When the news resource team questioned Pant’s team, the Delhi Capitals, they did not deny his unavailability but simply stated that they have no information on the matter as of yet.

Rishabh Pant Not Included in Delhi’s Team Yet

According to sources, Rishabh Pant has not been included in Delhi Capitals’ team so far due to the lack of fitness clearance. Despite this, the team management can request the BCCI to include Pant as an extra player in the team.

Ganguly: Report Expected by March 5th

Sourav Ganguly, the Cricket Director of Delhi Capitals (DC), stated in an interview that Pant is fit and can play in the IPL. He mentioned that the National Cricket Academy (NCA) will provide Pant’s fitness report by March 5th, although as of March 9th, the report had not arrived yet.

Pant to Captain Delhi Capitals

The co-owners of the Delhi Capitals team also mentioned that Pant will be the captain. DC team co-owner Parth Jindal also stated that Pant will play in the opening match of the IPL. He won’t take up wicket keeping duties in the first half but will focus on batting, gradually incorporating wicketkeeping as well. He is expected to be fit before the IPL begins.

Pant Has Been Absent from Cricket Since December 2022

Rishabh Pant has been away from cricket since December 2022. After the Test series against Bangladesh, he encountered an unexpected mishap on December 31, 2022, while traveling from Delhi to Roorkee. Following this incident, he underwent three surgeries on his left ankle. He has been recovering at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Pant recently participated in practice matches organized by the NCA in Bengaluru. In these matches, he primarily focused on batting. Additionally, he has been batting during nets sessions with the Indian team.
