Shreyas Iyer Fined Rs 12 Lakh for Slow Overrate Against Rajasthan

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Shreyas Iyer has been fined ₹12 lakh. This fine was imposed on him for a slow over-rate during Tuesday’s match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Kolkata. The Indian Premier League (IPL) provided this information on Wednesday.

In the 17th season of the IPL, Kolkata Knight Riders faced a defeat by 2 wickets on Tuesday. Rajasthan won the toss and opted to bowl at the Eden Gardens Stadium. Kolkata scored 223 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs, with Sunil Narine scoring 109 runs off 56 balls. Rajasthan chased down the target, scoring 224 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.

IPL officials stated that this was Kolkata’s first offense of the season, so they will be penalized according to the IPL code of conduct.

In the last over, Rajasthan Royals won with only 4 players on the boundary. Rajasthan needed 9 runs to win in the 20th over. KKR’s team fell behind in completing the over at the designated time. As a result, in the last over, only 4 players were allowed on the boundary instead of 5 for KKR.
