Congress May Finalize the Names of Seven Candidates in Gujarat, Notice to All to Start Campaigning

With the Lok Sabha elections looming, all parties are intensifying their efforts towards the crucial task of finalizing candidates. In Gujarat, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already declared 22 candidates, while the Congress has announced 7 candidates, and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has put forth two contenders. 

Today, the Congress may unveil more candidates as it convenes its meeting in Gujarat. Political sources suggest that the names of the seven Congress candidates may be confirmed during this meeting. Notable among them are Prabhaben Taviyad for Dahod, Kalubhai Dabhi for Kheda, and Chandanji for Patan.

Potential Candidates for Approval in the Seventh Meeting

The forthcoming seventh meeting holds the potential for the approval of the following names:

  1. Chhota Udepur: Sukhram Rathwa
  2. Sabarkantha: Tushar Chaudhary
  3. Dahod: Prabhaben Taviyad
  4. Anand: Amit Chavda
  5. Kheda: Kalubhai Dabhi
  6. Patan: Chandanji Thakor
  7. Panchmahal: Gulabsinh Chauhan

These names await endorsement in the upcoming gathering, signifying a crucial phase in candidate finalization for the elections.

Candidate Declines to Contest in Ahmedabad East Constituency

According to sources familiar with the matter, a high-ranking committee has indicated that the potential candidates for Ahmedabad East constituency have been engaging in campaign activities by making phone calls. 

Meanwhile, the Congress party might announce its second list for other constituencies in Gujarat today. Earlier, the Congress had unveiled candidates’ names during meetings held in Gujarat. However, Rohan Gupta, a potential candidate for the Ahmedabad East constituency, has declined to contest in the elections.

Electoral Battle Between I.N.D.I.A. Alliance and BJP in Gujarat

A electoral showdown is brewing between the I.N.D.I.A. alliance and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat. Negotiations between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have resulted in the allocation of constituencies, with Congress contesting 24 seats across Gujarat and AAP competing on two seats in Bharuch and Bhavnagar. 

In this arrangement, AAP’s candidate Chaitar Vasava will contest in Bharuch, while Umesh Makwana will face the BJP in Bhavnagar.
