Tragedy During Dashama Idol Immersion: Girl Drowns in Gandhinagar’s Sabarmati River; Three Dead After Four Attempt Rescue
In Gandhinagar’s Sector-30, a group of people arrived at the Sabarmati River from Ahmedabad to install an idol. During the event, a 12-year-old girl tragically drowned in deep waters. Four individuals jumped into the river in an attempt to save her.
Unfortunately, three of them drowned, resulting in their deaths, while two others were rescued by local residents.
Attempt to Rescue Girl Ends in Tragedy as Others Drown in Sabarmati River
In Gandhinagar’s Sector-30, a 12-year-old girl named Poonam Prajapati, part of a family that had come from Ahmedabad to install an idol in the Sabarmati River, tragically drowned in deep waters.
In an attempt to rescue her, four individuals jumped into the river one after the other. Among them, Ajay Vanzara and Bhartiben Prajapati also drowned. However, two others were successfully rescued by local residents.
Fire Brigade Recovers Bodies of Three Drowning Victims in Sabarmati River
Upon receiving news of the incident, the Gandhinagar Fire Brigade team launched a search operation in the Sabarmati River.
They successfully recovered the bodies of Ajay Vanzara (from Amraiwadi), Bhartiben Prajapati, and Poonam Prajapati. Following the recovery, police arrived at the scene and are conducting further investigations into the tragic event.
