4 Indian Students Burned to Death in U.S. Carpool SUV After Speeding Truck Crash

In a devastating accident in Texas, USA, four Indians were burned alive. The accident occurred when five vehicles collided with each other. In this tragic incident, a car caught fire, but the four people inside could not be rescued. The accident took place on August 31, and the information has now reached India, revealing the details of the incident.

According to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office, the victims had come into contact with each other through a carpooling app and were traveling in an SUV to Bentonville, Arkansas. However, around 3:30 PM Indian time, they met with an accident near White Street. The police have taken the bodies into custody and have started an investigation.

How Did the Accident Happen?

According to the police, a fast-moving truck hit the SUV from behind, in which the four Indians were traveling. Due to the fire that broke out in the vehicle, all the passengers were burned alive. Officials said they are relying on DNA, fingerprinting, and dental and bone remains to confirm the identities of the victims. Preliminary identification has been made through documents.

Victims Identified Through Documents

The victims who were burned alive in the fire have been identified as Aryan Raghunath Ormapati, Farooq Sheikh, Lokesh Palacharla, and Darshini Vasudevan. Ormapati and his friend Sheikh had gone to visit a relative in Dallas and were returning home. Lokesh Palacharla was traveling to Bentonville to meet his wife. Darshini, who recently completed her master’s degree from the University of Texas, was on her way to meet her uncle.

Father’s Post Reveals the Incident

Vasudevan, a resident of Tamil Nadu, was living in Frisco, Texas. Her father sought help on Twitter, now known as X, after failing to reach his daughter. He tagged Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar in his post. He wrote, “@DrSJaishankar Dear Sir, my daughter Darshini Vasudevan has been in the US for the last 3 years with Indian passport number T6215559. She has been living at 3150 Avenue, Stars Apartment 1110, Frisco, Texas-75034, studying for an MS degree for 2 years and working for 1 year. He mentioned that yesterday evening she was carpooling with 3 other people. She was messaging until about 3 to 4 PM, but after 4 PM, she and the other three passengers could not be reached.”

Two Other Victims Were Also Residents of Hyderabad

Ormapati’s father, Subhash Chandra Reddy, is the owner of Max Agri Genetics Private Limited, based in Hyderabad. Ormapati completed his engineering degree from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in Coimbatore. His parents had visited the US in May for his graduation ceremony at the University of Texas. After the ceremony, they asked him to return to India, but he expressed his desire to work in the US for another two years. Unfortunately, the accident occurred. Farooq Sheikh, also from Hyderabad, was living in Bentonville. His father, Mastan Vali, mentioned that he had gone to the US three years ago. Vali, a retired private employee, lives with his family in BHEL, Hyderabad. His daughter, who also lives in the US, informed the family about the accident.
