Liquor Delivery Racket Using Children Busted in Ahmedabad: ₹8000 Salary, ₹200/Delivery
In Ahmedabad’s posh Bodakdev area, a racket involving children delivering alcohol has been exposed. Young children were being paid a monthly salary of ₹8,000 and a commission of ₹200 per bottle for delivering alcohol. The person providing the alcohol would tell the children that since they were young, the police wouldn’t press charges against them, and they would get their money. This racket had been operating for the last two months. After the police were informed, Bodakdev police detained one child, and the process of arresting the person supplying the alcohol has been initiated.
New System for Alcohol Delivery Established
In Ahmedabad city, bootleggers often use different methods to sell alcohol. To avoid police detection, bootleggers have now established a new system for alcohol delivery. Initially, women were used for delivery, but now this racket involves children in the delivery of alcohol.
Ankit Pitamber Hired a Child with an ₹8,000 Salary and ₹200 Commission
While Bodakdev police were patrolling, they spotted a child on a two-wheeler near Narmada Awas. Upon checking, they found alcohol bottles with the child. When questioned, the child revealed that a relative, Ankit Pitamber Parmar, had offered him a monthly salary of ₹8,000 and a commission of ₹200 per bottle for delivering alcohol. The child was instructed to deliver the alcohol on a two-wheeler without fear of being stopped or charged by the police. The child then started delivering alcohol based on this assurance.
Search for the Alcohol Supplier Begins

This shocking case of children being used to deliver alcohol has raised concerns, and senior officers have been criticized for failing to uncover the alcohol network in the city.
A while ago, an accident involving a car carrying alcohol on the Ring Road in Ahmedabad led to the death of three people.
