Mid-Air Collision: 2 Malaysian Navy Helicopters Crash, 10 Crew Members Killed
On Tuesday, two helicopters belonging to the Malaysian Navy collided in the air. Unfortunately, this accident resulted in the loss of 10 lives. Malaysian Navy officials reported that the incident occurred during a rehearsal for the Royal Malaysian Navy parade. They stated that all crew members aboard the helicopters were killed.
According to BBC News, the collision occurred at Lumut Naval Base in Perak on Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. The bodies of all the deceased have been taken to the hospital at the naval base for identification.

Malaysia’s Defense Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamad Ghazali, has arrived at the scene of the incident. He has appealed to people not to share videos of the accident. Following the accident, Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, has expressed condolences to the affected families.
He had discussed keeping an eye on the investigation into the incident through a post on social media. According to the New Straits Times of Malaysia, the celebration of the Royal Malaysian Navy’s 90th anniversary may be postponed following the helicopter accident.
