Hyundai Creta Next Gen Teaser: January 16 Launch, Set to Rival Grand Vitara
Hyundai Motor India has today released the first teaser of the upcoming mid-sized SUV Creta from the new generation. The company has also initiated bookings for the car, with customers able to reserve their unit by paying a token amount of INR 25,000, either through the dealership or online. The facelifted Creta is set to launch on January 16, 2024, and will be available in 7 variants – E, EX, S, S(O), SX, SX Tech, and SX (O). Having launched the second generation of Creta in India in 2020, Hyundai is now gearing up for its first major update in the third generation, with an expected starting price of INR 11 lakhs (ex-showroom). The car will compete with models such as Maruti Gran Vitara, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
2024 Hyundai Creta: Design and Color Options
Information about several design updates has been revealed in the teaser. Hyundai has designed the new Creta with the theme of ‘Sensuous Sportiness.’ The front features an H-shaped LED DRL strip, a new and split quad-beam headlight setup (vertical position), a new large radiator grille, and a redesigned bumper. The teaser provides a clear glimpse of the redesigned tailgate, connected LED tail lamps, and a pattern of two L-shaped LED DRLs. Apart from this, it will receive specific space-specific badging and a new bumper. Notable changes can be observed in the side profile, with the addition of new alloy wheels.
2024 Hyundai Creta: Interior Design
In terms of interior features, the new Hyundai Creta will be equipped with high-tech features. It will feature a dual-tone theme throughout the dashboard and offer a completely new and more premium look. The dashboard will incorporate a dual-screen setup similar to the one seen in the Kia Seltos. The passenger side of the dashboard will have AC vents with piano black paneling, and below, an open storage area with ambient lighting. The new Creta will introduce new ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, six airbags, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). All variants will have a three-point seat belt for rear passengers, rear headrests, and 60:40 split rear bench.
2024 Hyundai Creta: Performance
The new Hyundai Creta will offer three engine options: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine (115ps/144nm), a 1.5-liter diesel engine (115ps/250nm), and a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine (160ps/253nm) sourced from the Hyundai Verna. The car will have four transmission options: 6-speed manual, IVT, 7-speed DCT, and 6-speed automatic.

The 2024 Creta will boast advanced features such as a dual-camera setup, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, dual-zone AC, 360-degree camera, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Additionally, it will include ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, 6 airbags, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and TPMS. The rear bench will have a 40:60 split, and the 2-step recliner seats will be a highlight. Safety features like Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), rear parking camera, and ISOFIX child seat anchors are also included.
