MG Hector Blackstorm Edition Launches at ₹21.25 Lakh: Packed with Digital Bluetooth Sharing and 75+ Connected Features, Poses Competition to Tata Harrier-Safari

MG Motor India launched the Blackstorm Edition of its flagship SUV, Hector, in India yesterday. The Blackstorm Edition is based on the top models of Hector and Hector Plus, and it will be available in the Sharp Pro variant with 5, 6, and 7 seat configurations. The car comes with more than 75 connected features, including digital Bluetooth key sharing.

The Special Edition SUV gets some cosmetic upgrades over the standard model, including an all-black shade, red inserts on the exterior, and an all-black cabin. It starts at Rs. 21.25 lakhs for the petrol-CVT variant and goes up to Rs. 22.76 lakhs for the diesel-MT 6-seater variant (both prices ex-showroom).

The Hector Blackstorm Edition follows the company’s third Blackstorm Edition after the Gloster and Astor. Customers can book the SUV online or at their nearest dealership. Its delivery will commence shortly. The MG Hector Blackstorm Edition will rival Tata Harrier Dark Edition, while the Hector Plus Blackstorm Edition will compete with Tata Safari Dark Edition.

Hector Blackstorm Edition: Exterior Updates

The MG Hector Blackstorm Edition comes with Gun Metal accents and a Black theme interior with a Sterry-Black color exterior design, showcasing the powerful role of India’s first internet SUV. The outer part of the car features many areas with dark chrome elements.

It includes dark chrome brand logos, dark chrome-inspired diamond mesh front grille, dark chrome inserts on skid plates, dark chrome tailgate garnish, and dark chrome finish on body side claddings. The Hector Blackstorm comes with 18-inch all-black alloy wheels with red brake calipers.

To give the SUV a premium and bold look, MG provides smoked-out connecting tail lamps, piano black roof rails, and piano black bezels with LED headlamps. Moreover, customers can fit Blackstorm emblem on the vehicle at the dealership without any additional cost.

Hector Blackstorm Edition: Performance

The Hector Blackstorm Edition comes with two engine options to choose from. It features a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 143hp power and 250Nm torque. This engine is tuned with a CVT transmission.

At the same time, there’s another 2.0-liter multi-jet turbocharged diesel engine sourced from Fiat, delivering 170hp power and 350Nm torque. It comes with the transmission option of only a 6-speed manual gearbox.
