Among the 10 cases, four individuals have a travel history, having returned from Goa, Singapore, Rajkot, and Australia. Six patients among the new cases have been discharged. Eight New Cases Reported Yesterday

Yesterday, Ahmedabad recorded eight new COVID-19 cases, including five males and three females. The cases were reported from areas like Navrangpura, Naranpura, Jodhpur, Thaltej, Gota, and Sarkhej. People Opt for Medication Instead of Testing for Cough and Fever

Due to COVID-19, an 82-year-old resident of Dariyapur in Ahmedabad passed away on Tuesday. Testing facilities are available in urban health centers and hospitals managed by the Municipal Corporation for COVID-19. Despite exhibiting symptoms like cough and fever, many people are choosing to take medications instead of undergoing testing.

No Clarity on New or Old Variants

According to Dr. Bhavin Solanki, the Health Department head of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, there is no clear information about the new or old variants of the virus. Samples from those testing positive are being sent to the Gandhi Nagar laboratory for genomic sequencing. Until now, there has been no report specifying the type of variant involved. The city has been consistently reporting between five to ten new cases daily, but there is no clarity on whether these are new or existing variants.

Lack of Seriousness Among People Regarding COVID-19 Cases

The Health Department of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has implemented testing arrangements for COVID-19 in all urban health centers and managed hospitals. Doctors at various urban health centers are advising patients showing symptoms such as high temperature, cold, and cough to undergo COVID-19 tests. However, a significant number of patients are not opting for testing. Instead, they are taking prescribed medications. Even when individuals show symptoms of COVID-19, many are not getting tested. Only two to three patients per day per center are getting prepared for COVID-19 testing. Currently, those who have already undergone testing in urban health centers have received negative reports. People seem less concerned about COVID-19 cases for now.
