Rajkot AIIMS Launch on 25th: Bringing Comprehensive Healthcare to Your Doorstep

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Dream Project, the first AIIMS in Gujarat, is taking shape in Rajkot. The Outpatient Department (OPD) services have been operational for the last two years, and from February 26 onwards, Inpatient Department (IPD) services will also commence. On February 25, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the AIIMS in Rajkot, marking the beginning of the final preparations for the inauguration of the Prime Minister’s Dream Project. The AIIMS will utilize modern machinery to provide comprehensive care to patients, ensuring that patients do not have to travel outside Gujarat for treatment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the AIIMS in Rajkot on February 25. Following this, Rajkot, along with the entire Saurashtra region and Gujarat, will have IPD services available at Rajkot AIIMS. A total of 190 doctors and 318 nursing staff will be deployed to provide healthcare services to patients. The inauguration will feature 250 IPD beds, including 25 ICU beds. Alongside the 250 beds, operation theaters, CT scans, X-rays, MRI machines, and other equipment will be available, subject to technical checks and licensing processes, ensuring comprehensive facilities for patients when IPD services begin. Emergency services, including those for heart attacks and accidents, will be attended by medical teams, with two ambulances currently operational and plans to increase to five in the future. Following this, Rajkot AIIMS will provide 23 different types of medical services to patients in the near future.

Before the inauguration, the AIIMS in Rajkot has initiated the recruitment process for various departments. In January, recruitment processes for approximately 12 departments were conducted based on their respective requirements. Positions such as Junior Medical Record Officer, Junior Electrical Engineer, Junior Civil Engineer, Junior Hindi Translator, Security Cum Fire Jamadar, Yoga Instructor, Speech Therapist, Assistant Laundry Supervisor, Dental Technician, Libraryian Grade 3, Assistant Store Officer, among others, have been filled in different departments. Additionally, recruitment processes for several departments were also undertaken in December 2023.

Registration through the application will be required for treatment.

The OPD department of e-Sanjeevani in Rajkot AIIMS will be operational from Monday to Saturday, from 11 AM to 1 PM. During these sessions, services from departments such as Tuberculosis, Respiratory Diseases, Chest Diseases, Anesthesiology, Gynecology, Obstetrics, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, Dentistry, Psychiatry, Ear-Nose-Throat, Dermatology, and X-Ray will be provided. Regular OPD services will be available from Monday to Saturday, with timings from 9 AM to 5 PM, and on Saturdays from 9 AM to 2 PM.

e-Sanjeevani OPD Time Table:

• Monday and Wednesday: Dermatology, General Medicine, Obstetrics, and Gynecology departments will be operational.
• Tuesday and Thursday: Respiratory Diseases, Pediatrics, and X-Ray departments will be operational.
• Friday and Saturday: General Medicine/Surgery, Ophthalmology, Dentistry, Ear-Nose-Throat, and Psychiatry departments will be operational.

The Rajkot AIIMS also maintains a mobile application called “AIIMS Rajkot Health App,” available for both Android and iPhone users. Through this mobile application, patients can register themselves and receive appointments for online consultations. The application allows patients to register themselves after downloading it. Additionally, users can access information about AIIMS Rajkot’s facilities, doctors, and management. The application also provides access to various features like lab reports, prescriptions, lab inquiries, and OPD inquiries.
