BRS Leader Kavitha Arrested in Delhi Liquor Scam Case: Daughter of Former Telangana CM KCR
In the Delhi liquor hoarding case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned the daughter of the former Chief Minister of Telangana, KCR, to investigate her involvement.
According to sources from ANI, the investigative agency can bring her to Delhi for questioning. On Friday morning, officials from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at the Hyderabad residence of BRS leader Kavitha.
After considering various aspects of the investigation, including several discrepancies, this action is being taken. Kavitha is a member of the Legislative Council (MLC) in Telangana and is the daughter of Chandrasekhar Rao, the former Chief Minister and head of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
Amit Arora, an accused in the Delhi liquor scam case, revealed the name of Kavitha in March 2023. During the investigation, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) submitted several documents in court, including the name of Kavitha. Allegations have been made against her by AAP leaders for bribing them with ₹100 crores. After her name surfaced in this case, Kavitha targeted the BJP. She claimed that the ED reaches out to Prime Minister Modi during elections.
ED had arrested businessman Amit Arora from Gurugram. According to ED, Amit Arora disclosed the name of a TRS leader in his statement. The agency alleged that Kavitha was the main leader of the liquor lobby named ‘South Group’. She allegedly paid ₹100 crores to AAP leaders in Delhi through other businessmen.
On February 26, 2023, Delhi’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was arrested in connection with the Delhi liquor police case by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the CBI. After a seven-day remand by the CBI, Sisodia was released from judicial custody and sent to Tihar Jail on March 6 until March 20 (for 14 days) by the court. The ED had stated that a new liquor policy was being formulated, and it was alleged that South Delhi businessmen had paid ₹100 crores for it.
