Patan : Harij Mamlatdar Commits Suicide by Jumping from Office Roof

Today, a deputy Mamlatdar in the Patan office committed suicide by jumping from the office building. The incident occurred when the deputy Mamlatdar was performing his duties in the office. At that time, the watchman of the office was present, and he was the first to witness the incident. He reported that when the officer’s car arrived, he opened the door for him, stating, “I went downstairs to see some dogs, and then they fell from the top.”

However, the officer was not upstairs at the time. So, I thought it must be him. Later, when I went back to check, I learned that it was indeed the deputy Mamlatdar who had fallen. Therefore, I informed our officer about the incident.

Inspectors, along with the Collector and other officials, conducted an inspection today.

In Harij, the Mamlatdar’s office, a tragic incident occurred as the Mamlatdar jumped from the office building and lost his life on the spot. The reason behind the jump, which occurred after the Mamlatdar visited the office, is now the subject of discussion. Currently, the police have reached the scene and started their investigation. The Collector, along with other officials, is conducting an inspection at the site. The police have taken custody of the deceased’s body and are proceeding with the post-mortem. The entire case is being thoroughly investigated.

The Radhanpur DYSP, Mr. D.D. Chaudhari, has informed that the Mamlatdar committed suicide by jumping from the office building at around 9:30 in the morning. Upon learning about the incident, the Deputy Mamlatdar rushed to the scene and witnessed the unfortunate event. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter following the unexpected death. So far, no suicide note or any specific reason behind the suicide has been found. The primary investigation has not been able to ascertain the cause of the suicide yet. However, we are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.

Mr. Vio Patel, who served as the Mamlatdar in Harij, had opened the office on Sunday morning and had gone inside. Later, he went up to the roof of the building and jumped off. This incident drew the attention of the locals, and within minutes, the entire staff of the office, along with the police, gathered at the scene. The reason why Mr. Patel went to the office on a Sunday and why he committed suicide has raised many questions, and the police are currently conducting a detailed investigation into the entire incident.

Patel was an election officer and had duty scheduled from Monday night until 8:00 in the morning of Tuesday, November 21, 2022. At 9:24 in the morning, they called the driver to pick them up, and within just seven minutes, they committed suicide. Sanand Police, along with the DYSP and SP officers, reached the scene of the incident.
