Stone-Pelting on ‘Aastha Special’ Train from Surat to Ayodhya: Ram Devotees Scared; Investigation Initiated
Yesterday night, the Ayodhya Special Train, which was running from Surat to Ayodhya, faced stone-pelting incidents by some antisocial elements around 10:45 PM. The incident took place near Nandurbar.
The Central Minister Darshana Ben Jardosh had flagged off the Ayodhya Janmabhoomi Special Train from Surat yesterday. However, the train encountered a major crisis en route. When the train was heading towards Ayodhya and reached Nandurbar at night, it was attacked with stones. Passengers onboard the train were frightened. They hurriedly closed the train doors out of fear. Dozens of stones landed inside the train. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Passengers’ Account of Stone-throwing
According to passengers, stones were thrown from all four sides. Due to the suddenness of the incident, passengers got scared and tried to protect themselves. They panicked and closed the doors and windows of the coach. In the meantime, several stones entered the compartment. Fortunately, no one was injured by these stones. Upon receiving information, the GRP and RPF teams reached the spot and conducted a thorough investigation. After a brief inspection, the train was allowed to proceed further.
Investigation Initiated by GRP
The GRP has initiated an investigation into the incident. It was stated by the GRP that a case has been registered against unknown persons, and the investigation has begun. It is to be noted that on February 6, the first Ayodhya Special Train from Gujarat was flagged off for Ayodhya. The train was departed from Mahesana Railway Station after hoisting the religious flag. At that time, it was announced that several more trains would depart from various stations in Gujarat for the convenience of Ram devotees. Devotees were excited to witness the arrangements made for them, including accommodation, food, and other facilities, ensuring a comfortable journey. On February 13, another train arrangement for Ram devotees will be made from Udhna Railway Station.
More Trains Scheduled to Depart Tomorrow
Railway Minister Darshana Jardosh has announced that today all arrangements for the devotees will be completed. Hindus are eagerly waiting to have a glimpse of Lord Ram. Arrangements for all Ram devotees have been made in advance, including accommodation, meals, and various facilities. On the day of the Udhan Festival, arrangements will be made for another train for Ram devotees departing from the railway station. At that time, about 1,400 Ram devotees will go to Ayodhya for a visit.
