Supreme Court Judge’s Daughter’s Achievement: Wins Scholarship from Two American Universities, Chief Justice Chandrachud Extends Congratulations

Pragya, the daughter of the Supreme Court’s cook, has received a scholarship from two American universities. Following this, Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana honored her on Wednesday. The CJI presented her with a book signed by the Supreme Court justices and conveyed his congratulations. Pragya will now pursue studies in law and jurisprudence in the United States.

Pragya Receives Scholarship from Two American Universities

Pragya’s father began working in the Supreme Court as a cook in 1996. He resides in government quarters in Lodhi Colony, Delhi. Pragya received her early education in Delhi’s government schools, followed by pursuing her college studies from DU and then completing her law degree in Delhi itself. Subsequently, she started working as a researcher at the Supreme Court. During this time, she secured scholarships from two American universities to pursue her Master’s in Law. These universities include the University of California and the University of Michigan. Besides these, Pragya has also received offers for studies from other universities.

Judges Encourage Pragya

When Chief Justice Divay Chandrachud learned about Pragya’s achievements, he decided to honor Pragya and her family to inspire others. On Wednesday morning, around 10 o’clock, all the judges of the Supreme Court were present in the lounge, along with the Chief Justice. During this gathering, Pragya and her parents were brought into the lounge.

During this time, all the judges stood up and applauded Pragya to encourage her. Chief Justice presented Pragya with three books related to the constitution and emphasized how beneficial such meetings could be for law students. All three books were also signed by all the judges of the Supreme Court. On this occasion, Pragya’s parents were also honored by the Chief Justice by presenting them with a shawl.

Hope that Pragya Returns to Serve India

In this context, Chief Justice Chandrachud said that Pragya has achieved a lot on her own merit, and we acknowledge that. However, we also insist that she receives what is necessary for her. In the meantime, while smiling, the Chief Justice also mentioned that he also hopes that Pragya returns to serve India. One of the three siblings, Pragya, then plans to enter the field of education.
