Surat Police Constable Dies in Accident Returning from PM’s Event, Family Loses Only Son

In Kakrapar, a police constable from Surat, who was returning from PM’s arrangements, met with a serious accident. While riding his bike, the constable was hit by an unidentified vehicle in a grave manner, alerting the authorities. Consequently, he was rushed to Civil Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during the course of the treatment. The Civil Hospital authorities then handed over the mortal remains after some formalities. The deceased had a son in his family.

Constable Serving in the Police Force for 4 Years

According to available information, 30-year-old Setulkumar Jayantilal Chaudhary, originally from Vyara but residing in Nanpura, Surat, was associated with a family comprising his mother, father, and a sister. Setul was serving his duty as an Armed LR in the Surat Police Headquarters. He had been on duty for 4 years since 2019.

Hit-and-Run by Unidentified Vehicle

Yesterday, a program was organized in Kakrapar and Navsari by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Constable Setul went to Kakrapar as part of the police arrangements. From there, he was returning to Surat on his bike. During the journey, an unidentified vehicle hit Constable Setul’s bike, resulting in a serious accident.

More Treatment at Civil Hospital

Locals rushed to the scene of the accident. As Constable Setul sustained severe injuries, he was first taken to the local hospital, followed by being transferred to Surat Civil Hospital for further treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries during the treatment. The tragic demise of the young constable has plunged his family into mourning.

The atmosphere of grief was not only prevalent among the police personnel working at the Surat Police Headquarters but also among the police personnel. After the post-mortem, the police personnel from Surat Civil Hospital paid homage to Constable Setul by giving him a guard of honor.
