The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has announced the candidates for the 42 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal on Sunday. The party has fielded cricketer Yusuf Pathan against Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury from Baharampur seat. Actress Nusrat Jahan has been given the ticket from Basirhat.

TMC has initiated its Lok Sabha election campaign from Sunday (March 10). Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed a rally at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata. This rally was named ‘Jan Garjana Sabha’.

Addressing the rally, Mamata Banerjee said, “Today, I bring before you the 42 candidates of Trinamool for Lok Sabha seats in Bengal. Mamata is also included in the opposition I.N.D.I alliance, but the announcement of contesting alone in every seat of the state was made on all platforms of the party. Party MP Abhishek Banerjee was also present at the rally.

TMC leader Farhad Hakim said, “After a long time, we conducted a rally at Brigade Parade Ground. Through this rally, the message of TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee will be clear that we will win every corner of West Bengal. BJP will lose in all 42 seats of the state.”

Shubhendu Adhikari said – This is TMC’s farewell rally

Opposition leader and BJP MLA Shubhendu Adhikari said, “This is TMC’s farewell rally. In the Lok Sabha elections, they will be wiped out. TMC leaders are goons and corrupt. Their downfall has begun. BJP is organizing a rally in response to their message campaign.”
